Departure Information
Departure is from Marlin Marina, Cairns at 8:30 AM every day, return time 4:30 PM.
The Dive
Quicksilver Dive has skillfully outfitted and organized Silverswift to assure you have the best day possible out on the reef. The speed of the boat makes for a 60 minute trip out to the Great Barrier Reef, giving you over five hours out on the reef.
The Silverswift is the only boat in Cairns that visits three different dive sites in a day; it's speed allows the extra move without cutting into your time in the water.dive Divers are able to make three scuba dives and snorkelers have ample time to explore the reef.
 A roving permit allows the skipper to select from 15 different dive moorings on three (Thetford, Milln, and Flynn) reefs to find the three dive sites that will best diving of the day.
The high staff ration of no more than 1 staff per 8 guests enables them to spend more time caring for their guests. All scuba dives are guided. There is an extensive introductory scuba dive program, so snorkelers can make their first ever scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef.
The Boat
The Silverswift, launched in December 2006, is one of the newest and fastest dive boats in the Cairns fleet. A 78-foot powered catamaran capable of cruising at 32 knots, it makes the trip out to the reef in just 60 minutes, which gives you more time on the reef.
The boat has a state of the art ride stabailzation system, which is computer controlled to assure a smooth and comfortable ride out to the reef.
Silverswift, while licensed to carry many more passengers, takes a maximum of 80 visitors out to the reef. This means there is extra space for everyone, and guarantees that there will be a ratio of 8 persons per crewmember or better.
Small details of the boat also make a difference. Fresh water showers enable divers to rinse off themselves and their gear. We like the fact that there are multiple change rooms onboard, as well as a submerged dive platform that allows for easy entrances exits by divers and snorkelers.
