Departure Information
Departure is from Breakwater Marina, Townsville at 8:30 AM Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, return time 5:30 PM.
The Dive
This day trip is an easy day out on the reef. You can board Reefcat from either Townsville or Magnetic Island. Aboard the Reefcat there is plenty of space, making the two hour journey out to the reef quite comfortable.
 Your dive sites will be at Kelso Reef, a dive site that Sunsea chose in 2007 for its great diving and snorkelling.
After a two-hour cruise you will be spending 4 hours on the reef, enough time for divers to make two dives, and for snorkellers to get a very good look at things. Snorkellers can also opt to do one or two introductory scuba dives, have a ride on the glass bottomed boat, or take a guided snorkelling tour.
A tropical buffet lunch is included in this trip, as well as morning and afternoon tea/coffee/snacks.
The Boat
The MV Reef Cat is one of the large and powerful catamarans that are known for making fast and comfortable trips out to the Great Barrier Reef. This 32-metre (104-foot) boat can take up to 130 divers and snorkellers out to the reef.
The boat is fully outfitted with all the features that make for comfortable day out on the reef. There are huge deck areas, both enclosed and air-conditioned, as well as sun decks. There is a stern width dive platform that sits at water level, allowing divers and snorkelers to easily slide in and out of the water. A fully equipped galley area produces no only a tropcial buffet lunch, but amorning and afternoon tea nad snacks as well. All in all , it's boat where that will let you have an easy day out on the reef, whether you are a diver or snorkeler.

About SunFerries
Sunferries was established in 1997 as a passenger ferry link between Townsville and Magnetic Island. The ferry served both residents of the island and the many tourists that visit the island. In 2002 Sunferries started operating day trips to the Great Barrier Reef, which currently operates to Kelso Reef five days per week and every day during school holidays.
The operation has proven successful, so in 2006 the entire ferry fleet and terminal was upgraded, making Sunferries the largest reef trip operator in the city of Townsville.
